Technology is continuing and will continue to shape our daily and professional lives. As a teacher, I want to prepare my students for the future, and I desire to motivate students to attend university when they grow up. Learning keyboarding skills will help my proficient and English language learner students to communicate better in writing and speaking. Whether they are working on a school assignment or with a home project, they will be able to focus only on getting their ideas out onto the screen, rather than wasting energy and time trying to find that difficult letter on the keyboard. It will help my ELL on being more focused and conscious of what they are typing, as they will want to write the words out correctly. Improving their keyboarding skills can help the child to improve their written English skills and also their spelling. Keyboards will facilitate the work to students. Each student has access to school iPads, but they have to use the screen keyboard. Students only can see their typing on half of the screen because the screen keyboard takes half of the screen. Students struggle to check their typing. Keyboards will allow students to see their work on the complete screen.
