Today's generation of kids is technologically savvy and utilizing technology for various mediums. I would like to incorporate technology into our classroom in a positive and educational way in hopes that they will emulate this use on their own time as well. Since I have many English Language Learner's in my classroom, I would like to use the iPad in ways that support these students. For example, it is critical that I activate prior knowledge to ensure students are engaging in lessons in a meaningful way. One way I can do this with the IPad would be to cue visual pictures that students can associate with what they already know to help extend what they are learning. The iPad would also be very useful to show quick video clips that enhance students understanding of critical concepts in multiple subject areas. Having an iPad will drastically change the way I record student data and learning goals. By utilizing applications that enable me to quickly and accurately record data, I will be more effective and efficient in moving my students in the direction they need to go and in a manner that is most conducive to their learning.
