Our school is a Title 1 school with high poverty and sad stories. However, as a staff, we work with our students to provide a safe learning environment with high expectations. Our students know when they come to school, it is a place where they can be themselves while learning new things and being creative. My students are a group of various learning levels, creativity levels, behavioral levels and FUN levels. Each day is a new day and at times I feel like I am a zookeeper. There are other times I feel like an observer of a well-oiled machine. These kids make my job interesting and fun. They know I have high expectations and with support, all of my students strive to meet those expectations. They want to work hard, not only for me, but for themselves.
