We are starting a new ABA Special Day Class in our district and we need your help! My students are the greatest teachers there are. They constantly surprise us and when the bar is set high, they not only reach their goals, they surpass them. As special education teachers, we analyze our practices when goals are not being met. Why aren't they learning this? Is it the way I am presenting the content? What should I do differently? My students have Autism, which limits their ability to connect with the world around them. In our classroom, we strive to set up situations to work on areas of deficit so that they can learn and grow with their peers to the greatest extent possible. We provide opportunities for our kids to be part of inclusive environments that allows them to learn from their greatest teachers - their peers. Please consider helping us build our classroom from scratch!
