These journals will provide my students with the medium to create their writing. The blank pages allow them to develop their fine motor skills and letter formation. The pictures they will develop will allow them to use their imaginations and learn to label and write words. The pencils are the jumbo size, which are perfect developmentally for their small hands. These will allow for more control and help develop their fine-motor skills. The writing caddies will allow me to place materials around the classroom in order to give the more chances to write throughout the day. The binders will be used to create their Writers Workshop portfolios. The cardstock is to organize sections of their writing and for covers for the binders. Writing at an early age leads to a love of writing and creates authors!
