My students will use different programs on these tablets to increase engagement to learn such as Starfall and ABCMouse. They will use them to learn the alphabet, phonics, begin to read, use their imagination to create drawings which starts the writing process at a young age, and math skills. Research has proven that "technology-rich activities can sustain high levels of student engagement and peer collaboration compared to less technology focused activities." With tablets, a study showed that Children were sharing ideas, helping each other find apps, and asking each other questions. Incorporating a familiar resource students can work together to create a classroom community.
