My students have difficulty reading grade-level material due to low reading abilities. My students lack basic reading skills, which affects their reading fluency, reading comprehension, and vocabulary. My students benefit from having written material read to them either by another person or electronically. Most of my students are 1-2 grades below grade level in reading fluency and reading comprehension. These headphones will enable my students to listen to grade-level material paired with written material, thus increasing reading fluency and comprehension. Building on these skills will increase success in all subject areas and appreciate reading for enjoyment. The Scholastic magazine will be a source of providing reading material through auditory and visual means.
