One of the struggles in my classroom is providing enough opportunities to practice what we've learned, given our lack of resources. Since our schools is making strides to becoming a STEM certified school, it is extremely important for my students to be well-versed in many different forms of technology. iPads (and their protective cases) would be an excellent way to integrate more technology into the classroom as well as providing more experiences to communicate with the global society about mathematics and science. In order to help my students grown in their ability to apply mathematical concepts, the math resources (Common Core Math Practice Cards, Problem Solving Centers, and Write and Wipe Boards) would allow my students the opportunity to continue to practice skills. Providing these resources will help my students become stronger academically, and as a result, boost their self-confidence. Along with iPads and the math resources mentioned above, I've asked for a TIME Magazine subscription for my students. Since a majority of my students are still mastering the English language, it is important that I provide a literacy-rich environment that is relevant to the lives of my students. A subscription to TIME Magazine for Kids will expose my students to an array of different math and science concepts that are interesting to them, strengthening their desire to pursue other opportunities in math and science. Lastly, a classroom printer will be extremely helpful for everyday use. Having the quick access to a printer for spur of the moment experiments, scientific research, or quick homework differentiation, will such a great asset to have in the classroom. With the help of these classroom resources, my students will be able to have experiences that will prepare them for a lifetime of learning.
