My twenty students, consisting of five and six-year-olds, are energetic and excited about learning every day! Our class has a wide range of abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of my students are reading books and completing both addition and subtraction problems, while others are learning the alphabet and are practicing how to count to ten. Each of these learners need constant teacher directed differentiation. While many of my students have the opportunity to use technology outside of school, some are missing out on the excitement that comes from learning with the help of apps and new technology. I would love to create a culture that bridges the gap for my students by providing student access to technology within the classroom. This would help students learn to be excited about tackling challenges and provide opportunities to experience the happiness that comes from learning new things.
