Our school is the 7th most diverse school in the nation. We are also a low income school. Even with the many adversities faced by these students, they are resilient and strong. They live a life more unique than in other parts of the country in that they have recess outside when it is below 0 degrees outside! Alaska is a wonderful state, but there are struggles associated with cultural norms and set mindsets about education. We are trying to change those ideals for our students through this growth initiative.

About my class
