My students come from low income families; many don't have food regularly, a bed to sleep on, or the knowledge of what education can mean for them. My school is incredible in that we not only teach them how to be students but we teach them what is means to be a considerate human being. They are given lessons on respect, personal bests, language, and caring for community. The beauty is that they take these lessons to heart and apply them, not only on campus, but with their families and in their community. My students are incredible human beings and I relish every moment I have to help them become the best that they can be.

About my class
