My students are young children with Autism, Down Syndrome and other developmental delays. My school is amazing and is currently a state demonstration site for special education preschool programs. The staff are energetic, caring and talented people. We work as a team and involve parents in all aspects of educational process. Our goal is to help the students develop the skills needed to transition to Kindergarten with minimal need for special education support. Our goal is for them to have the speech and language skills to express their ideas and understand classroom instruction and to have the social skills to enable them to form relationships with adults and children in their community. We want them to have the academic skills to participate in a general education classroom if possible. Early intervention can make a difference and improve their ability to participate in a general education environment. I love my school and how we support both our children and their families.
