My students are 3rd graders, who have a thirst for knowledge. I can't count the number of times I have had to look for answers to student questions on the Internet. But, my students also come from a rough life. 89% of the students at my school qualify for free and reduced lunch. This means their family falls well below the poverty level. Since that is the case, less then half of my students have Internet at home or access to any modern devices. My school is located in a "suburban" neighborhood, one that is known for the most violence in the city, but that doesn't reflect on my students. They are here to learn and many of them have had to grow up quickly and know the only way to get out of the situation, is to get an education.
