I would like to gift my students a book to use for practicing their reading and building their reading skills. I would consider using this as a group reading project. Even though we are 'virtual' homeschoolers, we still meet 3x's a week on Google Meeting. We are still building relationships. I want my students to know that there are friends out there and a teacher that cares. I try to bring the kids together to create a different type of social environment. Having an extra meeting for a 'book club' would be cool. Overall, I would just love to gift them with something this year. A wrapped surprise. Mail for them. To show them I care, they are not alone and I support their education....even if it is on the other side of the computer screen. I do not get an 'allowance' to spend on my children this year because I am a virtual teacher. So, normally, I would host holiday parties, buy birthday gifts and of course Christmas gifts...this year, I am not given the additional funds to do so.
