Just as we as adults feel comfortable learning and working in different ways students also need that opportunity to feel comfortable in their classroom in order to stay motivated and focused. Our students spend hours in the classroom and we know how hard it is to be asked to sit still and focus when you are not truly comfortable. We have been inspired by research that has shown alternative seating can make a huge difference in helping reduce problematic behaviors and increase students' learning. When our students enter the room they will be given a variety of options of where they can learn each day. The exercise ball chairs, and stools will allow them to wiggle and move building core strength but also valuing their need to move. The floor seats will allow them to work and move freely around the room comfortably. We truly feel this model will inspire and encourage our students to do their very best and we are beyond excited to give them this opportunity!
