As a fairly new PE teacher I entered the program two years ago at our small rural school with an equipment room that had been improved upon fairly recently, but still has some gaps. Each year I have been taking opportunities to participate in programs that may earn us a bit of extra money to spend, but still find it difficult to maintain or upgrade equipment as needed. Across the street from our school is a nice little baseball field that is maintained for public use and summer programs for the youth. I have some older, well-used equipment suited for middle and high school students to use, but inappropriate for use with smaller children. The elementary students I teach are often excited about baseball in the Spring and ask to go to the ballpark and play baseball for PE, but it is difficult to do without the proper sized and appropriately safe equipment with which to use. Having this equipment would expand their skills while allowing them to learn and play safely in a game they are super excited about! Thanks for your consideration!
