We are a Title 1 magnet elementary school located in the biggest school district in Texas. Students at our school are bright, creative, open-minded, and enthusiastic about learning, but also come from very different and often low socio-economic backgrounds. There are over twenty five languages represented amongst our population. In addition to serving students in a Dual Language and English as a Second Language Program, we also have a Gifted and Talented program and two special education classes. One of the classes is for autistic students and the other class services students with behavioral conditions. These students participate in my class but often need extra resources to help better understand social situations and react appropriately to problems.
