Nearly 85% of the families receive Free or Reduced lunch and many are suffering the tragedy of homelessness. Approximately 50% of the students are just learning English as a second language or have very low oral language skills. Even with all of these difficulties the students continue to show a strength and determination to develop their early literacy skills.
