Waimea Canyon Middle School is a title 1 school. Over half of our students come from poverty situations. There are approximately 400 students at the school with over 180 in the music program. These students are deserving of the very best tools and resources to achieve their goals. They are caring, hard working and are filled with energy for success. These ethnically diverse students are looking for ways to share their musical and artistic talents. WCMS is looking for ways to excel in high quality team building activities. Last year we participated in our first musical yearbook. This means that each music class recorded at least one song and we created the first WCMS CD representing all of our music students. This year we hope to raise the bar, and share our high quality class recordings with various radio stations on Kauai, and hopefully off island as well.
