The school I teach at is located in a very diverse but economically challenged region. It is safe to say that our community is poverty stricken with community support ultimately being scarce. Although the troubles of the surrounding community is felt in the classroom, that does not stop my students from attempting to achieve greatness. When students work as hard as mine are, it makes you want to be the best educator and give them the best possible resources to be successful. If students are making every effort to surpass all possible expectations, it would be an absolute travesty to limit their potential due to a lack of adequate resources. Every morning they approach the school day the same way, with a smile and a hug for their teacher. They know that their classroom is not just a place they are required to go; they know its a place were great learning takes place. Our room is not just a classroom, its a student driven oasis of positive learning.
