I have several resource learners who need a lot of help in math. They are at least two grade levels below their peers of the same grade. Our school is like a family, where students rotate through different classes and subjects. Resource students are pulled for Math and English Language Arts, depending on their needs. They spend time as inclusion students in their other two core classes, Social Studies and Science. They receive help from aides, peers and the classroom teacher. I keep my classroom as low key as possible, with students being allowed to work on computer programs to supplement their learning after the short lessons in their adopted curriculum are completed. We use hands on manipulatives as well as the computers to reinforce the learning. We really could use better computers that are not having problems everyday and are most likely fixing to quit permanently. They have been through the cycle.
