My students are passionate learners who come to school eager to learn and succeed. Many of my students come from challenging home lives and environments; however, they are determined to overcome these challenges to earn the education and future careers they want and deserve. The staff and teachers at my school are invested in our students' overall success, and we ensure that our students have the education as well as personal support they need. In English class, my students love to discuss the books we read, and constantly ask thought-provoking questions of me and of each other. My students have a variety of talents, and include both passionate and reluctant readers. My passionate readers have been begging for new books, constantly asking if I can get a copy of a particular book. By introducing reluctant readers to some of my favorite YA books, I have already seen a change in attitude. "Have you read -- yet?" has become a common question.
