Currently the rug my students use in our daily meeting area is old and worn. It is important to have a comfortable learning environment for success. We would use the rug for a daily morning meeting area, presenting new concepts, discussions and student work areas. The students will spend a lot of time in this area so it is important to me that everyone is comfortable and have enough space. This year the rug will serve in our flexible seating option in our classroom. The students will have desk to sit at but will also have the option of grabbing a pillow and a clipboard and sitting on the carpet as workstations. Other flexible seating options will be bean bag chairs, crate seating etc.
