Every day my class does small group rotations. I do not have a lot of parent volunteers and I need independent groups that can engage the children without an adult. A listening center is the perfect activity for transitional kindergarten for a small group center. The stories run an average of 6-10 minutes and paired with a reading log it will allow the perfect amount of time for a rotation. A generous teacher just gave me two boxes full of cd/cassettes with sets of four/five books per story. All I need now is the cd/cassette player and headphones for the children to enjoy hundreds of new stories.
