My students do an extensive study of the Holocaust every year. They create a mini-museum that is the highlight of the month long unit on the Holocaust. My students need books that focus on the struggles of Jewish resistance fighters and the brave men and women who fought and died with honor. Students need to read about kids like them who faced oppression, discrimination and violence at the hands of a dictatorship government. My students access to these books about the Holocaust will open their eyes to the history of the world and encourage them to be the change they want to see in this world that continues to struggle with the same issues of oppression, bias and discrimination .
