My students are currently enrolled in my short films course and they learn about all the parts of film making such as preproduction, production, and post production. The projector will help me show them examples from the big screen as well as shorts that previous students have produced. The students will make their own short films this year and I would love for them to be able to view each other's work on a big screen and not on a tiny computer monitor. There is a reason we all go to the movie theaters. We want to be immersed and taken to an alternate reality. When my students make films I emphasize to them that they are trying to take the audience to another place and watching these films on a giant screen really makes a difference. This projector will also allow my students to have a film club after school where they will watch movies and using what they've learned in class, discuss the techniques used in the movies. I would love my students to develop a love for cinema and this projector will be a great start.
