For some of my students, this classroom library will be their first experience visiting and borrowing books from a library. By building a classroom library for my students, it will spark their interest in learning how to read, excite them in selecting a book on their own, and allow me to teach effective skills related to literacy. Many of my students do not have access to books at home. This classroom library, it will support my students to grow a love for reading while learning fundamental routines of borrowing and caring for books. As my students grow into readers this year, the classroom library will provide my students with opportunities to engage with the English language through various fiction and non-fiction books.
