The students in my urban high school classroom come from limited income homes and have little art background. They are excited to be in a Studio art class where they learn about different media and art techniques with hands-on art projects. They also make connections to art from cultures that are different from their own, research artist, plan their projects, and learn to reflect in writing what they have learned.
