I teach a group of curious, creative, and resilient young learners in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, near Jackson Park. My students come from a vibrant community rich in culture and history, and they bring energy, imagination, and a love of learning into our classroom each day. Many of them thrive with hands-on experiences, visual supports, and opportunities to collaborate, which help make learning meaningful and engaging. In our classroom, students have a wide range of learning needs, and some benefit from additional supports such as structured routines, interactive materials, and flexible learning tools. Providing equitable resources ensures that every child has access to the curriculum and can build confidence, independence, and a strong academic foundation. With the right materials, my students are able to fully participate, express their ideas, and grow as learners.
