Our school is a unique school in that we have been the first in the district to offer programs such Spanish language Development, where all students learn Spanish from first grade through 8th. The teachers are happy, well trained, and innovative. Because of this, the vast majority of our students come from households where Spanish is the first language. We are one of the few schools in the district that runs a lottery for entry. Families want their students to come to our school because of the dynamic teaching staff and the programs offered. Our second grade students run a button sale each year and plant a community garden that helps stock one of our city's food banks and the farmer's market,to bring fresh vegetables to those who otherwise may not be able to afford them. Our school is unique in that families stay together in our school for 9 years. It makes our school a home away from home for our children.
