I would like to create a room as unique as my students by offering flexible seating options. That way, students can choose the style of seating that best meets their individual needs. The students I’m teaching this year have never known a school year that wasn’t affected in some way by Covid-19. Even their movement in the classroom is limited. Studies have shown increased anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues in young children since the pandemic. Activity is proven to improve behavioral problems and learning engagement. Flexible seating options will give students the sensory input they may need, specifically students with ADD, ADHD, and autism. Flexible seating will allow my students to sit, stand, wobble, bounce, practice Jedi moves, and find the most comfortable seating option for their learning. These students have had many choices taken away from them due to Covid-19. I want to give them the power to choose a seating option that engages them and helps them achieve their goals. “Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.” - Master Yoda
