My students’ curriculum is presented through an online system. Having a dedicated computer (ThinkPad) for our projector will make it easier to design and present lessons. This computer would be set up specifically for the projector, so we would not have to change any settings as we move our current computer from task to task. With a computer reserved for the projector, we can use our other classroom computer for administrative tasks and for small group lessons. Most importantly, with students in the class at multiple levels, another computer will help us differentiate and present lessons based on specific need. In addition, technology is a huge motivator for all students, but especially my kids. They love doing their work on a personal device and are motivated to work harder if they know that they can use an iPad as a reward for their effort. iPads will give more students the opportunity to practice their skills individually and specialized applications can help with lessons. My students have a variety disabilities but we work hard to overcome them! This technology will allow the students an exciting way to access their curriculum and keep them motivated to learn. Our class thanks you for helping us engage in 21st century learning!
