This project will help my students see how birds such as ducks and chickens grow from an egg to a live bird! At this young age, many of my students only know that eggs are a food we eat and that they come from a store. This project will give them an advantage to learn about the life cycle of some of their favorite farm animals! Hands-on learning is what our Montessori classroom is all about! There isn't anything much more hands-on than watching life emerge from an egg into a living breathing creature. In our classroom, we focus on personalized learning. This project will help students learn more about ducks and chickens. We will have non-fiction books as well as fiction stories about them. We also plan on having multiple models for the students to interact with during our daily work time. As many of our students live in the country, some parents have shown interest in our upcoming project as well! We hope to re-locate the hatched animals to the students themselves in the late Spring!
