These writing journals would give students the opportunity to demonstrate their writing skills in English and Spanish throughout the year. Students could create stories of their experiences during their kindergarten year at home and at school. The vocabulary journals would allow them to store their newly learned words to use in their writing throughout the year. When their stories are complete our class will host a Young Authors Tea and invite parents and staff members that work with my students to share their stories and celebrate their success in kindergarten Dual Language. Many of my students need encouragement and support to see their potential. A gift like this would help my students build a love for reading and writing. It would encourage them to continue writing into first grade. Students would be so excited to not only create their own story but to write it in a book that looks like a book they would chose from our classroom library to read.
