Our students will be able to combine their knowledge of historical facts about Greek history, Greek mythology and compare and contrast the fictional dictation of Percy Jackson. Our hope is that they will be able to read for enjoyment as well as build content knowledge. In 6th grade it is important to create literature units that combine nonfiction and fiction, with this novel we will be able to create a text set around Greek history and mythology, which will future enrich students' imagination, comprehension and build connections between fiction and nonfiction.
