My classroom is a hands-on classroom in a Title I school. My students love digging into something new. They enjoy figuring things out on their own, working together and being teachers to other students in the class. Many of my students speak a language other than English at home. Their households do not have abundant financial resources. The students start the year at a range of levels, from far below grade level to showing strengths at grade level and above. Listen to them explain their thinking, watch them doing flips or dance moves on the playground, see them work together to solve problems, academic and otherwise--you will see their talents and abilities shining through.
