Studies have shown that students who are given flexible seating options, and encouraged to move their bodies throughout the school day, increase blood flow to the brain. This is vital for not only learning but for a student's neurological health as well. When you walk into my classroom, you will find students reading and writing on our couch, under tables, walking around the room, standing, and in countless other positions. By supplying these wiggle stools and cushions to my classroom, you will be helping our youngest of scholars learn in fun and developmentally appropriate ways. Movement is critical for Kindergarten and 1st grade students as their small bodies are growing significantly over the school year. We are loosing teeth and getting taller each day! By providing wiggle stools and cushions for my classroom, students will be able to engage thier core muslces while wiggling during lessons and classwork.
