Our classroom libraries are seriously lacking in many departments. As with many CPS schools, the available books are old and often not high interest, which doesn't allow students to foster a love of reading. In addition, my students benefit so greatly from audio books! It's a great way for them to access grade level stories without having to read them word for word. Watching them smile and laugh as they listen to a story is the best feeling. Flexible seating in the library will allow for a reading space that is desirable, comfortable, and enjoyable for every student. It also doubles as a great calm corner!
