My students are living in North Carolina and working in a high poverty, Title I school with limited resources. I want my fourth graders to feel a sense of community within our classroom. Many students connect through music and it sparks creativity. It is also a great tool for classroom management, by stopping and starting the music. This is a strategy I learned from a highly acclaimed teacher workshop called PEAK (Performance Excellence for All Kids).
