At Burbank High School in San Antonio, my students reflect the heart of our community—resilient, curious, and deeply committed to one another. Many balance school with work, family responsibilities, and real-world challenges, yet they show up each day ready to learn and grow. Our campus proudly serves a diverse, predominantly Latino student population, with many students being first-generation college-bound and economically disadvantaged. What they may lack in access to resources, they make up for in perseverance, creativity, and grit. When given meaningful opportunities and the right tools, my students rise to the occasion—asking thoughtful questions, supporting their peers, and taking pride in their accomplishments. Your support helps ensure they have equitable access to hands-on learning experiences that build confidence, expand possibilities, and affirm that their dreams truly matter.
