My students are 6 and 7 year old fantastic children who are eager to learn. They remind me of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. They have a lot of energy and trying to keep them engaged for a period of time, can sometimes be a struggle. I feel that having each child have their own yoga ball to sit on will help with this challenge. They enjoy brain breaks where we stop and engage in music and dancing. They also enjoy learning through educational songs. My school is a Core Knowledge school. Students in first grade are learning a challenging curriculum. Can you believe I taught my first graders about Mesopotamia last week and this week we will time travel back to Ancient Egypt! My principal is supportive, my teammates and I collaborate well and the community is all about giving back to the school. I feel that I have the luckiest job in the world.
