I am a first grade teacher in East Harlem to 28 bright, funny, energetic and sweet scholars. Our schedule is jam packed with learning as our school's mission is to prepare scholars academically, emotionally and socially to become leaders in their community. My students come from diverse backgrounds and many are English Language Learners who need extra support in order to be successful. Studies have shown that all children benefit from hands on experiences especially ones through play to help strengthen their muscles and develop fine motor skills. During the first week of school, my students came up with a hope and dream for the school year involving learning, creating and playing. Please help my students achieve their first grade hope and dream.
