My students have the willingness and drive to learn and require assistance to help with generalization of learned skills. Due to our student's extended processing time and various disabilities, the Livescribe pens would increase their success rate in classes. It is difficult for my students to both listen to classroom lectures and take notes at the same time. Classroom lectures are becoming more fast paced and my students fall behind with the demands of note-taking while simultaneously listening the content. Research shows that smartpens such as the Livescribe pen can be used to support content and skill acquisition, while reducing classroom anxiety for students with learning disabilities. My students would use the Livescribe pen to take notes and record the teachers' lectures in class. The Livescribe pens would provide recorded feedback and the ability to slow down lectures, shorten note-taking requirements in class and allow them the opportunity to fully engage and listen without the students feeling overwhelmed. Teachers would also have the opportunity to provide and record step by step examples for the students to use when completing homework independently.
