My students are three and four year old inner city pre-school children. Many come from single parent homes were education may or may not be valued. They are experiencing school for the very first time this year. Many have limited language due to lack of exposure to the English language. They are determined to express who they are and how feel daily but often struggle with expressive language. My school is a place where learning is placed first and students are held accountable for their learning. The quote "It takes a village to raise a child" applies to my school. The staff works as a team to ensure that all students get what they need to be productive learners.
