My school is a high poverty school that is comprised of students who often do not get the same opportunities as those in middle class, neighboring districts. I work directly with a class of 17 third graders, of whom 7 are special needs students. I have the privilege of being both in the general education classroom, as well as my own classroom where my students can work if necessary.
