Our school is in its second year! We are an urban charter school dedicated to send children to and through college. Most of our students will be the first in their family to go to college. As the daughter of an immigrant myself, I relate to my students and their struggles. My students are a reflection of me and they teach me so much every day. They are all vibrant and excited about life, and I encourage these traits every day. Our classroom is a calm environment where students are loved for exactly who they are. I love sharing my travels with my students and encouraging them to explore the magnificent world around them. Optimism and joy are character traits that we speak explicitly about in class. Reading and writing are the perfect way for us to understand ourselves and to find our place in the world.
