For several years in our new school program, I moved yearly from room to room and utilized available shelving and space for my students projects. Wet paintings and collages were laid across floors, tables, and all available surfaces and collected soon after to make room for new classes and projects. Frequently, still-wet works would incur damage. Finally, I am settled in a room, building a program, and hoping to create a professional and organized art studio atmosphere with a safe place to dry my students wet works- a drying rack! This is a large expense, difficult to do without major cutbacks to the rest of the supply budget, but will allow the students to create larger, safer, more professional painted works for years to come.
