We are looking to improve our playground. The current swings we have are cracking and the coating around the chains is coming off- we have actually had students cut their palms because the chains are so rough! We are also asking for a sturdy sandbox and cover for the kids. Sand is an appropriate play medium for children of all cognitive and skill abilities. Outdoor playtime is an essential component of a child's development. It is a time for children to build motor skills, have opportunities for social interactions, enhance self-esteem and to build cognitive and language skills. By giving the children opportunities to explore the outdoors, we are giving them the chance to use their imagination by creating their own games and experiences.
