My students represent students residing in downtown Atlanta. The socioeconomic divide is wide. Our school is nestled in a neighborhood with homes from $400,000 while more than a third of our student body qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our school is diversified with 35% Gifted Learners, on level, and special needs students. All of these groups are represented in my classroom. The teaching staff is diversified as well. Students have opportunities to travel abroad during Spring Break. Last year students visited Germany, Switzerland, and France. A diverse group of students participated. Our principal's children and many of the teachers on this campus of 1,100 students allow their children to attend our school. Students have opportunities to express themselves through the arts and sports activities.
