I have managed a printer like this at another school where we were very successful in creating objects that inspired kids to work hard and push themselves creatively. It is challenging to create an object on a screen and then make it to the correct proportions and measurements. Measuring a phone correctly down to the millimeter and creating a useable phone case is one project I have successfully mentored High School students to create. I also have had students create an adapter that will hold a phone on a standard camera tripod as well as cool art projects. When students can see their creations on screen become solid objects, they are inspired to work hard to create good projects.
